BOWfest 4

The Best of the West Festival 2012 – aka BOWfest – has the string taut and the bullseye in the sights for a fabulous event this Saturday and Sunday – 15th and !6th September.

Today the framework of the tents was going up, the Castle was as pretty as always and the grounds were looking magnificent.

BOWfest 1

Where else would you get anywhere near the Red Hot Chilli Pipers [as well as everything else] for a fiver for the day – or the Red Hots and Skerryvore – with 14 other bands and 23 west coast whiskies to taste – along with Food from Argyll producers and craft stalls for £8 for the full two days?

Don ‘t be daft. An opportunity like this won’t come again.

BOWfest 3

This weekend you can do just that (if you get your ticket now – on the day is more expensive) – and if it rains it doesn’t matter, All the main attractions are under cover  and the music tent holds 800.

This weekend you can also see and hear an absolute musical one-off: The Kintyre Schools pipe band seniors and juniors will be playing along with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. This will be one to awaken the embers of something.

There are loads of outdoor activities for everyone from children upwards, some adventurous and  including country sports.
